Albert Moore Brann
Albert Moore Brann LUBBOCK-Albert passed away peacefully on April 21, 2016. His struggle to live was as strong as his passion for life, and his God finally granted him the peace that he sought. Albert was born in Hamilton, Texas on Oct. 15, 1927, to Lowesco and Muriel Brann. He was preceded in death by Anne, his wife of 61 years and his sister, Betty Carlton. Albert attended Texas A&M and UT School of Law and obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree. He practiced law with his father after moving to Lubbock. He became an independent insurance adjuster, which allowed him the freedom to spend time with his family and provide the service to people that he was called to do. Albert committed his life to Christ with the help of his friends in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). He showed this commitment by a lifetime of serving and sponsoring those who were also in need, and he never wavered from his almost 40 years of sobriety. He was an avid athlete, playing all sports, being a coach, and encouraging his all of his children and grandchildren to love the outdoors. He is survived by his brother, Jim Brann of Spring Branch, Muriel Sumrall of Pasadena; daughters, Beverly Whitlow and Becky Brann of Lubbock; sons, Phil of San Marcos, Pat of Amarillo and Stewart of Columbus, OH; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way. He is also survived by his extended AA family members who were also a great part of his life. A memorial service for Albert will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Room 107 at the Lubbock Civic Center. Everyone who knew him is invited to share in the celebration of his life. Please remember Albert as God's servant, and if you are called to donate in his memory, please send your contributions to the South Plains Food Bank. Please do not hesitate to go to: http://memorialwebsites.legacy.com/AlbertMooreBrann/homepage.aspx and share your condolences or joys for Albert's life.
