H.M. "Bill" Williamson, Jr., 71, went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 22 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bill graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1961 and served four years in the U.S. Marines. He entered Texas A&M University and graduated in 1969 with a degree in Business.

He and Carolyn moved to Houston in 1969 and worked for Tenneco for 16 years as a tax manager. In 1984 he founded two companies in Houston and started Bill Williamson Tree Farm in Grimes County. In 1998, he retired to Iola, Texas and focused on the tree farm. Bill was active in the Iola FFA Booster Club, The Grimes County Jr. Deputy Sheriff Mounted Posse and Grimes County Emergency Services.

Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Newberry Williamson; son, Dennis Williamson and wife Judy; grandson, Adam Sevcik; brother, John Williamson; sisters, Marcia Miller and Lisa Sullivan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Gladys Williamson.
