Arthur E. Powell
Born: October 29, 1944
Died: February 26, 2015

Arthur E. Powell, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on 2/26/15 following a 3 year battle with cancer. Art is a long time resident of Denton,Texas and a member of Glory of Zion in Corinth, TX. 
Art was born on 10/29/44 in Houston Texas to: Father: Richard Ellis Maddy and Mother: Myrtle Louise O’Neil. 
Art lived in many communities growing up but he claims Bryan/College Station as him home. It was there he graduated from Texas A&M, class of 1967. 
Art worked many years within GTE (later to become Verizon). Art’s career took him to Bryan/ College Station, San Angelo, Brownwood, Norman Oklahoma, Irving, Las Colinas and Denton. Art concluded his working career by completing 10years with the postal service in Lewisville, Flower Mound and The Colony. 
Art is survived by his wife, Donna R. Powell; two sons, Arthur L. Powell of Austin Texas and John G. Powell of Anderson, Texas ( currently working abroad in Saudi Arabia); and step son Neal A. Denny of Denton, Texas. Art was blessed with 4 grandchildren and one great grand -son. 
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Glory of Zion in Corinth. Art was laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park in Denton at a private graveside service. For online condolences please visit www.mulkeymason.com.
