Joe Brent Stanaland, (41), of Girard, Texas, passed away on November 13,2014, after a three year battle with Synovial Cell Sarcoma cancer. Joe was born on October 5, 1973 in Lubbock, Texas, to Jody & Brenda Stanaland. He graduated from Jayton High School in 1992. He attended junior college at South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. He transferred to Texas A&M University and graduated in 1998 with a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences. 

He is preceded in death by: his grandparent's, John Quattlebaum, Hamlin & Leona Stanaland. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters, Sarah Jean and Kylee Jill of Midland, Texas; his parents, Jody and Brenda Stanaland of Girard, Texas; his sister, Joy Patranella & husband Alan of Littlefield, Texas; two nieces, Madison & Jeri Holcomb of Littlefield, Texas; his Granny, Willie Quattlebaum of Crosbyton, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2 pm at Jayton High School. Visitation will be at Zapata Funeral Home in Spur, Texas on Saturday, November 15, 2014. Interment will follow at the Jayton Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made in Joe's honor to American Cancer Society . Also, a college fund has been setup in Joe's honor for his daughters. Contributions to this fund can be directed to First Baptist Church, Jayton, Texas.
