Algie Franklin Trussell Jr.

    Algie Franklin Trussell Jr., 74, died Sept. 25, 2014 at the home of his daughter in LaVerne, Calif. of complications from cancer. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1958, was in the U.S. Navy for two years and graduated from Mississippi College and Texas A & M University with a master degree in computer science.

He worked at the University Medical Center in Jackson in the computer department, Stephen A. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas in the computer department, World Vision International in Monrovia, Calif. as Director of Computer Services, Lawry’s as a consultant, in California, Director of International Business Institute (IBI), China, V.P. of Educational Services International, China for 12 years. He lived in Thailand for eight years and traveled to 45 countries.

A memorial service was held in LaVerne, Calif.

He is survived by three daughters, Sheryl Trussell Shwetz (Steve), Julia Trussell McCloskey (Patrick), Suzanne Trussell Ogstad (Brian); 12 grandchildren: Sam Shwetz, Spencer Shwetz, Sawyer Shwetz, Nathan Trussell, Candace Adams, Brad Adams, Jordan Butler, Nicholas McCloskey, Hannah Ogstad, Claire Ogstad, Regan Ogstad and Cooper Ogstad; sister, Debbie Trussell Hunter (Lawrence); nephew, Michael (Mickey), Makamson (Julie); nieces, Claire Makamson Buchanon (Wayne), Danette Parker Crowe (Tim), Lisa Parker Griffin (Tom), Tracy Parker Tillman (Frankie) and special cousins, Allen Clearman Jr. and Sharon Clearman Seal (Al).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Algie Franklin and Mona Correll Trussell Sr. and sister, Julia Ann Trussell Parker.

He moved back to Meridian in October of 2013.

His first concern was witnessing for the Lord at every opportunity. He opened his home and witnessed to his students about the love of the Lord.
