He loved golf, Phillies baseball, and watching and attending NASCAR racing events where he cheered his favorites, Dale Earnhardt Sr., and then Jr. He was a true family man; a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will always be remembered in particular for his patient, loving nature and affection towards his wife and beloved granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Marian, Drums; son, Joseph Plaviak; daughter, Dawn Marie Aigeldinger and husband, Robert, and granddaughters, Olivia and Carly Aigeldinger, all of Mountain Top; sisters, Kate Yenshaw and husband, Steve, Hazleton; and Mary Margaret Higgins and husband, Frank, Schnecksville; aunts, Lil and Ruth Bartkus, Hazleton; several cousins, two nephews and a niece.
