Charlie Clyde Willoughby

Birth: Oct. 27, 1938
Death: May 30, 2014

Lifetime West Columbia resident, Charlie Clyde Willoughby passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014 at the age of 75. Charlie was born in Corpus Christi, Texas to Forrest and Alice Willoughby. He graduated from Columbia High School in 1957, attained a Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State University and a Masters of Education from Texas A&M University. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be dearly missed by all. He retired in 1995 from a 33 year career at Columbia ISD that included 10 years as the Columbia High School Principal. After retirement he served as a docent at the TPWD Sea Center of Texas and enjoyed serving in various civic and church organizations. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, sports and a good western movie. He played guitar and sang in the local band "All Keyed Up".

Charlie passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014.

Charlie was a resident of West Columbia, Texas at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his wife Joyce.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 2:00PM at Baker Funeral Home 634 South Columbia Drive, West Columbia, TX 77486 with Pastor Ryan Lintelman officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Galloway, J. C. Farmer, Vergel Perry, Ken Powell, Danny Sassin, David Norris, Ernest Ray Cotton, and Jack Hays.

In lieu of Flowers the family requests that donations be made to either First Baptist Church Building Fund 226 Broad St., West Columbia TX 77486 or CEMS 400 N. 13th St, West Columbia, TX 77486.
