Mr. Jack Riley
October 5, 1928 - April 8, 2014

Jack Howell Riley, age 85, passed away on April 8, 2014 at his home in Longview surrounded by loved ones.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 1 pm at Fellowship Bible Church located at 4600 McCann Road in Longview. Officiating will be Pastor Joe Coppinger and Jim Johnson. Burial will follow at Rosewood Park in Longview. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. He will lie in state at the funeral home from 10 am on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the funeral home.

Jack was born in Ben Wheeler, TX to Andrew Jackson and Mattie Land Riley on October 5th, 1928. He went to school in Wills Point, TX. He married Hazel Joyce Ferguson on August 3rd, 1957. He started college at the age of 15 at Texas A&M University in 1944 and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1948. He worked for E-Systems in Garland and Greenville and traveled the world while employed as a Technical Rep. Later, he owned several small businesses in Dallas and Longview and was respected by his employees because he always treated them with fairness and compassion. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Riley and his precious granddaughter, Laura Elizabeth Wyers.

Jack is survived by his wife of 56 years, Hazel Joyce Riley, his children and their spouses, Andy & Doris Riley of Kilgore, Eve and Randy Wyers of Longview, Eric and Dana Riley of Wylie and Susie and Robert Lightfoot of College Station, their grandchildren, Lauren and Jeff Standiford, Erin Riley and fiancée’, Adam Antosh, Riley and Leslie Wyers, Thomas Riley, Nick Wyers and fiancée, Macie Richmond, Andrea Riley, Jackson Wyers, Jacki Riley, Mattie Lightfoot, Ben Lightfoot and Sam Lightfoot, his sister, Margaret Crocker and family of Austin and many nieces and nephews.

Jack will be missed by his family and all who ever knew him. The way he led his life is an example to us all to have high morals, good character and care for your fellow man.

Pallbearers will be 6 of his grandsons.
