GALLAGHER
John Joseph Gallagher, Jr. (Jack) passed away peacefully on the morning of February, 24th, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his beautiful wife, Judy; his four children and their spouses, John and Anjali, Michael and Elizabeth, Judy, and Mary and Todd Kopas; his sixteen grandchildren Jeremiah, Claire, Joshua, Elijah, Lucy, Anna, Ezekiel, Ezra, Beatrice, Benedict, Samuel, William, Rosemary, Irene, Jane, and Grace; and his siblings Margaret, Suzanne, Tom, Eileen, Mike, and Mary. He is preceded in death by his grandchildren Isaiah, Spero; Mary Francis, and Frances Fidelis; his brothers James and Hugh; and his parents John and Margaret.

He attended Sacred Heart High School in Newton Centre, MA, received a Bachelor's from Boston College, a Master's in Geology from the University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. in Tectonophysics from Texas A&M University. In his career, he was variously a petroleum geologist, business manager, Science Director at the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, career counselor, and founding member of Career Partnering, LLC. He proudly served as a Captain in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He was a world traveler, but above all else he loved his family and his Catholic Faith.

Visitation will start at 6 PM with a rosary at 7 PM on Thursday, February 27th at St. Anthony Claret Catholic Church, 6150 Roft Road, San Antonio, TX 78253. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, February 28th, also at St. Anthony Claret. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to CHRISTUS Hospice and Palliative Care, 4241 Woodcock Dr., Ste. A-100, San Antonio, TX 78228-1337.
