Roy "Mack" Gray
    March 21, 1935  -  February 3, 2014

Belton --- Roy “Mack” Gray, age 78 of Belton, passed away [Monday], February [3], 2014 at a Temple nursing home. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Belton on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at 2:00 PM under the direction of Dossman Funeral Home with Darren Walker officiating. A private family graveside service will be held prior to the memorial service.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dossman Funeral Home.

Roy was born March 21, 1935 in Holland, the son of William Roy Gray and Ruby Lee (Nelson) Gray. He married his wife, Patricia Ann (Mitchell) Gray, June 6, 1956 in Belton. He worked for the Department of Agriculture for 33 years and retired as Deputy Under Secretary of Agriculture in 2006. Over the years Mack resided in Washington D.C., Maryland, and then Belton. He was a Sergeant in the National Guard and had a Bachelors, Masters, and Ph.D in Agriculture Economics from Texas A&M. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Belton, a Mason and member of the Belton Masonic Lodge. Mack enjoyed playing golf, fishing, football, and loved his Texas A&M Aggies.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bobby Jack Gray.

Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia Ann Gray of Belton; two sons, Keith Gray and wife Barbara of Katy, Texas, Mitch Gray and wife Michelle of Cary, North Carolina; and five grandchildren, Bradley Gray and wife Zoe of Denver, Colorado, Emily Gray of Katy, Texas, Lauren Gregory and husband Tim of Raleigh, North Carolina, Alison Gray of California and Eric Gray, also of California.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made to the scholarship fund at the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M, 556 John Kimbrough Blvd. Suite 200, TAMU 2140, College Station,TX 77843-2140.
