Harold Franklin Goatcher Jr.
September 30, 1946 - October 10, 2013

Mr. Harold Franklin Goatcher, Jr., age 67 of Honey Grove, TX went home to be with our Lord Thursday, October 10, 2013. Mr. Goatcher was born Sept. 30, 1946 in Fayetteville, AR and was a Texas A&M graduate, class of 1969. He married Genelia “Genie” Mae Lockler in May, 1975. He enjoyed driving an eighteen wheeler for 27 years until his health forced him to retire. Harold loved horses and shared this love with Genie their entire marriage. He and Genie raised foundation quarter horses together for 15 years. His retirement years were spent enjoying using his John Deere tractor maintaining his property, and keeping up with friends and loved ones.
Survivors include his loving wife Genie, of Honey Grove, TX; daughter Hollie Beth and husband Richard Baumeister of New Caney, TX; daughter Gena Lea and husband Chris Patterson of New Caney, TX; brother Stanley Edward Goatcher of Plummerville, AR; sister Phyllis Marie and husband Bill Paul of Humble, TX; sister Celia Anne and husband Bob Ethridge of Tyler, TX; sister Cheryl Ann Northcutt of Houston, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his father, Harold Franklin Goatcher, Sr. and mother, Sibyl Marie Griswood Goatcher; brother, Malcolm Eugene Goatcher; brother Charles Arthur Goatcher, maternal grandparents, Naomi Evans and Claude Asbury Griswood, paternal grandparents, Ollie Arizona Huey and Peyton Wayland Goatcher and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Family visitation for Mr. Harold Franklin Goatcher, Jr., is being held Sunday, October 13, 2013 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, TX.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in care of Gena Lea Goatcher Patterson at P.O. Box 224, Honey Grove, TX 75446 to help defray the family’s expenses.
