Funeral Home. Raul Zamora was born Feb. 25, 1947, in Laredo to Amalia Rodriguez Zamora and Sixto Zamora. He learned English by reading the Sunday comics in the "Laredo Morning Times," which had opposing pages in English and Spanish. He earned a degree in industrial
engineering from Texas A&M University. He then served on the USS Dubuque during the Vietnam War. He married Lucia Briseno of Laredo in 1972. They relocated to Fort Worth and he later took work at the Miller Canning Division. They had five children and many
years of devoted marriage. He buried Lucia in 2002 after staying faithfully by her side through her fight with cancer. He recently served as plant manager for Fujikoki America in Dallas. He retired in 2011 and went back to his original passion: being a rancher
on the Samuel Zamora Ranch in Encinal. He loved music (especially Mexican guitar trios), food and relentlessly improving every process that came across his desk. He cared deeply for his family and worked tirelessly to ensure bright futures for all of them.
As Christians, he and Lucia made their home a second home to their children's friends and always found enough love in their hearts for one more. Raul was preceded in death by his wife, Lucia Zamora, and his brother, Eduardo Zamora. Survivors: Sons, Luis Zamora
