Harry W. SAUNDERS
SAUNDERS, Harry W. (1923-2013) Passed away May 27th at Penn Hospice in Philadelphia. Born in Athens, Georgia, raised in Abilene, Texas, educated at Texas A & M. USA Captain Saunders was awarded the Purple Heart in WWII. He located in Los Angeles and joined
the architectural firm of A. Quincy Jones. He was assigned lead architect on Sunnylands, the estate of Walter Annenberg in Rancho Mirage, California. Later in private practice he was architect on many projects with internationally renowned interior designers
William Haines and Ted Graber. During the Reagan Administration he was called upon to design an inlaid wood floor for the Oval Office and the Trellis Room in the West Wing of the White House. He is survived by his companion of 45 years and two nephews.
