Col. (Ret) Thomas V. Morley Jr.
April 23, 1948 – March 3, 2013

COL Thomas V. Morley, Jr., USA (Retired), passed away March 3, 2013 at the M.D. Anderson Center in Houston, after a valiant battle with cancer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in College Station. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be scheduled for a later date in June at
Arlington National Cemetery, with full military honors.

Tom was born April 23, 1948 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Rita (O'Toole) and Thomas V. Morley. He was a member of the Class of '78 and reserved a special place in his heart for Texas A&M and his hometown of Pittsburgh. Following the Aggies, Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates gave him great joy or misery, depending on the success of the season. Tom's quick wit always kept life entertaining. He had many interests: sailing, scuba diving, music, movies, theater, reading, and the Civil War.

Tom proudly served his country for 27 years, first as an NCO then as an officer, attaining the rank of Colonel. He was an Infantry Platoon Leader in Vietnam and later commanded a battalion and brigade. After retiring from the Army, he held several jobs and was working for the University of Texas at Arlington at the time of his death.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kristine (Peters); and their children, Megan and Sean. Tom married Kris on November 22, 1983 in Bamberg, Germany. They enjoyed raising their children and traveling. Megan has fond memories of sharing sporting events with her Dad, living in 13 different houses, and visiting many exciting places. Sean will remember his Dad's passion for learning and life and how he shared those with his family.

Flowers or memorial donations may be made in Tom's name, to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851, both are welcome.
