January 2, 1936 to December 11, 2012
Gordon Glenn Hayes, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2012, in Hermann Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 2, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, to parents, Jack L. Hayes and Eunice Victery Hayes.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Dave and Ella Victery of Leggett, Texas; brother, Jack L. Hayes, Jr.; sisters, Ella May Townsend and Betty Anne Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hayes, and brother, Kenneth V. Hayes, both of Livingston, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
Gordon attended schools in Leggett and graduated from Livingston High School in 1953. He served three years in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Texas A&M University. He remained at Texas A&M doing research on Motor Vehicle safety and accident prevention. He then made his home in Juneau, Alaska, where he retired from the State Services Department in 1995, and returned to reside in Livingston, Texas.
A visitation for Mr. Hayes will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas, with interment at a Graveside Service at Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas, on Friday, December 14, 2012. Rev. Lucas will officiate the service.
Cochran Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
