Ryan Robert Michael Ryan, 63, of Houston died Dec. 21, 2010. He was born Dec. 28, 1946 to Clement W. and Elizabeth L. Ryan in Houston, Texas. His parents preceded him in death.
Mike was the proudest member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 1969. He received his Masters in Civil Engineering in 1980 from The University of Texas at Austin. Mike proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He enlisted in the Texas Air National Guard where he attained the rank of Major.
He worked for the U.S. EPA Dallas as an Environmental Engineer responding to oil spills and other environmental emergencies.
He is survived by his cherished daughters: Erinn E. Ryan of Austin, Tx.; Cailyn Ryan Bevier '06 and her husband, Henry '06 of Springfield, MO.; and Tracy Ryan Symmank and her husband, Chris and their son, Jonathan; his brother, Mark T. Ryan and Amy; sisters, Nancy Hinterlang and Mark; Frances Scott and Gordon; his ex-wife, Kathy Ryan; nieces and nephews: Sommer Scott Bily and Devin, Grant Scott, Julie Hinterlang Savarino and Steffen and Patrick Ryan.
All the family wishes to honor his sister and loving care giver, Nancy Hinterlang, without her constant care and devotion, Mike would not have remained with us as long as he did.
Graveside service will be held with full military honors on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery
