George Henry Heiman 1944 - 2010 Lawrence
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for George Henry Heiman, 66, of Lawrence, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

Mr. Heiman died Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010, at his home. He was born Aug. 29, 1944, in Houston, the son of Alfred and Edith Joyce Smith Heiman.

He was a graduate of Bryan High School in Bryan, Texas, and he received his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Mr. Heiman served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. He worked as a computer engineer for many years.
He was a member of Tall Texans Club of Dallas and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.

He married Linda Marie Krische on Nov. 8, 1974. She preceded him in death Oct. 20, 1986. Survivors include one daughter, Catherine Rollins and husband Chris, of Irving, Texas; three sons, Brian and wife Aleida, of Chester, N.J., Matthew Michael, of Lawrence, and James, of Lewisville, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Simmons, of Montgomery, Texas, and Jocelyn Calame, of Mexia, Texas; and four grandchildren, Michael Heiman and Lily, Grace and Emma Rollins.

A rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary, after which the family will meet friends until 8:30 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
