SOUR LAKE -- Funeral services for John James Hooks, 77, of Sour Lake will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Tree Catholic Church with burial in Rosedale Cemetery under the direction of Kelley-Hixson Funeral Home of Beaumont.
He died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Hardin County Memorial Hospital after an illness.
A native of Philadelphia, PA., he had lived in Sour Lake most of his life and was a retired service station owner.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Hooks of Sour Lake; one daughter, Mary L. Ainsworth of Sour Lake; one son, John M. Hooks of Houston; and one grandchild.
