Run For The Ring Set For March 5

Scot Walker '90 February 13, 2017 9:29 AM updated: February 13, 2017 9:56 AM

Run for the Ring, a 5K race and drawing to raise money for an endowment to fund Aggie Ring scholarships, is March 5 at the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center.

All currently enrolled students who purchase tickets and show up the day of the event will be entered in a drawing to win one of five Aggie Ring scholarships, which can be used toward payment for an Aggie Ring. Of the five awards, at least two will be for men and two will be for women.

If the winner already has an Aggie Ring, they may use the scholarship toward a diamond setting in their Ring. Winners can also transfer the prize to another eligible Aggie.

Additional prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the 5K race.

This year’s race will start at 9 a.m. on March 5, with check-in beginning at 7:45. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 the day of the race and includes a T-shirt and the opportunity to win door prizes.

You do not have run in or win the race to be eligible to win a scholarship, but you do have to show up. Come out and meet the yell leaders, take a picture with Reveille, and enjoy other post-race entertainment.
