An entire endangered species can be saved with a dollar amount that an international team of researchers, including a professor from Texas A&M, describe as a bargain: only $1.3 million.
In fact, a new study lists 841 endangered species that can be saved from extinction for about $1.3 million per species per year, with the total bill reaching $1.3 billion.
The new study was published in the current issue of Current Biology, and the international team of researchers includes scientists from the University of Southern Denmark, the Imperial College of London, the University of Queensland in Australia and Texas A&M.
