Edward W. Kubin
Edward W. Kubin went to be with the Lord, July 14, 2004 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 85. Mr. Kubin was born August 18, 1918 to Frank and Helen Kubin in Bryan, TX. Edward enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps, graduated as pilot and received Commission, 2nd Lt., Marfa Air Base, TX, March Air Base, CA, B-24 Combat Crew training. Mr. Kubin left the USA, October 1943 with the 30th Bomber Group to Central Pacific on New B-24 "Come Close.'' He also flew the Berlin Air Lift and returned to the U.S. in 1949 and retired from active duty April 1, 1963. Edward went to work for the Civil Service and retired in 1993. Survivors are his daughter, Karen Kennedy of Schertz, TX; sister, Helen Pope of Bryan, TX; brother, Frank Kubin of Bryan, TX and three grandchildren. A Visitation will be held Sunday, July 18, 2004 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. Rosary to be recited at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 19, 2004 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX at 10:00 A.M. with Burial to follow in Smetana, TX at 3:00 P.M. The family would like donations sent to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma or flowers. Arrangements under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home.
