Jimmy Dale Pearson, 69, of Canyon died Monday, May 23, 2011, in Canyon.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Brooks Chapel with Randall Ator officiating. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Jimmy Dale Pearson was born in Swisher County on Sept. 10, 1941, to Evelyn and Artie Pearson. He graduated from Happy High School in 1960 and married Joyce Chadd Peier in 1967. He received his bachelor's from Texas Tech University and his master's and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University in 1973. He worked as an agronomist for Taylor Evans Seed Company in Danville, Ky., Gahanna, Ohio, and Tulia for 23 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Pearson; two daughters, Nancy Story and husband Jeff and Stacy Wright and husband Joel; six grandchildren, Elliot, John and Rebecca Story, and Macy, Matthew and Mallory Wright; and three sisters, Mary Wade, Elsie Stout and husband Joe and Barbara Reece and husband Ted.
The family suggests memorials be to Parkinsons Support Group of Amarillo, 2211 Peach Tree St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
