Jesse Morris Abel VII
February 1, 1921 - July 14, 2009
Jesse Morris Abel, VII, 88, of Olmito, entered into eternal rest at Solara Hospital in Harlingen on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. He grew up in Olmito and owned Abel Auto Repair, Abel Tractor Co. and Abel Gin, all in Olmito. He enjoyed playing guitar, fishing for catfish, and having fish frys. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Left to eternal treasure his memory are his children: Jesse M. Abel,VIII; Carroll Wayne Abel, Rebecca “Becky” Sue Abel and Don “Sonny” Abel and his wife Phyllis and Robert Abel. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jesse Abel, Stacey Denise Abel, Don Allen Abel, David Anthony Abel, Steffie Leigh Abel and Evea Mary Abel.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the Darling-Mouser Chapel at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, July 17, 2009 with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Military rites will be conducted at graveside by the V.F.W. Post 2035 under the direction of District Commander Luis Lucio.
