Keller, TX

John Davis received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aerospace engineering from Texas A&M, in 1987 and 1989, respectively. The university has always been a prominent part of his life, and although he is a first-generation Aggie, John always knew Texas A&M was the place for him. As a student, John particularly enjoyed attending home and away football games as well as Silver Taps ceremonies. From the memories he created on campus to the connections he now makes off campus, being an Aggie has always been a source of pride for John. “I feel a sense of pride when I see cars with Century Club stickers on them,” he said. “I feel that same sense of pride when I see another Aggie Ring or someone says ‘Gig ’em’ when I’m wearing my colors. That pride swells up and makes me feel so blessed to be an Aggie.” John’s wife, Clare, although not an Aggie herself, came to know what it meant to be one through her husband. She loved the university and was responsible for persuading a friend’s daughter to attend Texas A&M. The young woman served on Traditions Council as a student and she graduated in 2017. In May 2017, Clare lost a battle with breast cancer, but her legacy lives on. John established an Endowed Century Club gift in both of their names so that others could benefit from the Aggie legacy the two have created together.
