She was born on November 13, 1972, in Corsicana, Texas, to George and Sharon Kale. She grew up in Longview, Texas, and graduated from Pine Tree High School in 1991. She later attended Texas A&M University, where she earned a degree in psychology in 1995.
On February 10, 1996, she married James Thomas Carroll IV in Henderson, Texas, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and their faith in Jesus Christ. They met at Texas A&M and never stopped talking to and loving each other from that moment on.
Robin poured her heart and soul into being a dedicated wife, mother, sister, friend, and servant of all her myriad groups. She touched countless lives through her wisdom, joy, kindness, and unsurpassed hospitality. Robin met people’s needs daily and fed them with the love of Jesus. She was so happy God allowed her to raise two wonderful children who love Jesus and stand strong in their faith. To be in Robin’s sphere was to be loved unconditionally and with joy.
She is survived by: – Her husband of 30 years, James T. Carroll IV – Her children: Faith White and husband Andy White, of Plano, Texas, and J. Thomas Carroll V and fiancée Meghan Hash of College Station, Texas – Her mother: Sharon Kale of Longview, Texas – Her sibling: Wendy Lowry and husband Mark Lowry of White Oak, Texas – And many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and innumerable friends. She was preceded in death by her father, George Kale.
Robin had a passion for Jesus, Fellowship Bible Church, Bible Study Fellowship, her Bunko Group, her DNA Group, her Small Group, Aggie Mom’s Club, Christian Heritage School of Longview, and all those who knew her. Robin was gifted in caring for and teaching little children about the Bible. Robin loved people and wanted them to be cared for with her spiritual gift of hospitality. She loved having people in her home. She loved her little dogs, Aggie football and baseball, the Texas Rangers, Snickers candy, making breakfast tacos, fried fish, eating Asian food after church on Sundays, and planning her next trip. She will be remembered for fiercely loving her family and all her people, for her ability to make everyone feel at home, and for her 1000-watt smile that lit up every room. Her greatest joy was having her family gathered around her and traveling with her beloved husband. Her family always called her “the Fun” because she brought fun everywhere she went.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Fellowship Bible Church, 4600 McCann Road, Longview, Texas. Arrangements were handled under the direction of East Texas Funeral Home.
