Eugene Wayne Lightsey 

February 21, 1948 - December 24, 2024 

Eugene was born in Luling, TX on February 21, 1948, and went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2024.  He graduated high school in Luling and went on to graduate from Texas A&M University Class of 1970. Eugene had a long and successful career in the oil industry retiring from Range Resources as the Director of Drilling /Production Engineer. Eugene was followed by his two sons Jeff '09 and Daryl '02, who both graduated from Texas A&M Engineering, and both have had successful careers in the oil industry. Currently, Eugene's grandson Landon '26 attends Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M and aspires to follow in his grandfather's footsteps in the oil industry. 

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Sarah Lightsey and his brother Kenneth Lightsey.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara. His sons Daryl, wife Sonia and Jeffrey, wife Alicia. Grandchildren Andrew, Karson and Landon. Great-grandchildren Krew and Alyvia Coppa. His brother Don Lightsey, wife Judy and several nieces and nephews.
