Theodore Hart "Ted" Spindle, Jr.
June 30, 1932 - September 4, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Theodore "Ted" H. Spindle, Jr. Ted was a devoted servant of God, who left this world on September 4, 2024, at the age of 92. He was a man of unwavering faith, living his life as a testament to his love for the Lord through his praise and glorification to God.
A memorial service for Mr. Spindle will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 10am in the chapel of the First Baptist Church of Gadsden, AL. Pastor Mat Alexander will officiate, and his burial will be at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg Virginia.
The family will receive friends at Collier-Butler Funeral Home on Monday, September 9 from 5 until 7 p.m. Special thanks are extended by the family to Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Encompass Health and Rehabilitation Hospital of Gadsden for their dedicated care.
Ted dedicated his life to serving his family, was a compassionate and caring friend to all who knew him, and continuously sought intellectual growth. His kindness, generosity, and curiosity were evident in every aspect of his life.
Ted was awarded his B.S. from Texas A&M University, a proud member of the A&M family he enjoyed cheering on his Aggies during football season. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1969. He began an accomplished legal career beginning at the Social Security Administration and retiring from the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Josefine P. Spindle. He is survived by his daughter, Susan (John) Roach, grandchildren Regina (Warren) San Diego, and Erika (Jeffrey) Stewart, and his great-grandchildren Cedric, Lyanna, and Oliver San Diego and Evelyn and Grace Stewart.
Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we find comfort in knowing that Ted is now in the presence of the Lord, where he will rest in eternal peace. He leaves behind his legacy of faith, love, and devotion and will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
