Robert V. "Von" Smith, Sr. 

February 4, 1933 - October 23, 2022 

Robert Von Smith was born on February 4, 1933 and died October 23, 2022.

He was Texas A&M University Class of 1955, member of the Ross Volunteers and Fish Drill Team. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1953 to 1993 and National Guard in Texas, 1963 to 1967, and New Mexico, 1967 to 1970.

He used his Civil Engineering degree to help design most of the bridges around the Cedar Park/Leander Texas area with the Corp of Engineers in the 1960's. He worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development for 25 years and upon retirement began a third career of self employed residential house inspection.

He married Patricia A. (nee' Gregg) in 1955 and were married until her death in 2020. They had four children, all who went to and 3 graduated from Texas A&M.
