Angela "Angie" Elizabeth Casetta, passed away on May 4th, 2023, at the age of 44 in Lincoln, CA. She was a devoted mother of three beautiful children. Angela was a daughter, granddaughter, sister, auntie, niece, girlfriend, teacher, coach, and a beautiful friend who touched the lives of everyone she met.
Born on October 29th, 1978, in San Jose, CA, Angela attended Shasta and New Haven Elementary schools in Manteca, CA for her primary education and graduated from East Union High School in 1996. She then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University in 2000 and completed her Master of Arts in Education/Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix in 2010.
Angie was a passionate and dedicated teacher, mentor, and leader at Twin Rivers School District from 2004 to 2023. She was highly respected by her colleagues, students, and their families. She was a passionate softball coach who started her part-time coaching career in 2000 at her alma mater, East Union HS. Her passion for coaching sparked up again when her daughter, Taylor, was just 6 years old. Angela coached with Rocklin Girls Softball from 2011 to 2021 and ASA Softball from 2015 to 2023. She also enjoyed going to the gym, paddleboarding, cycling, hiking in nature, being active with her children and chasing sunsets.
Angela is survived by her three beautiful children: Taylor K. Casetta (17), Jacob P. Casetta (14), Cylas M. Casetta (8), and former spouse of 17 years, Steven P. Casetta, loving father to their children.
Survivors also include her loving boyfriend Loren G. Wilson, father, Rowland W. Long, Jr. (Mary Long), and mother, Frances K. Scott (Jimmy Scott), grandmother, Elizabeth A. Osborne, former mother-in-law Judy Casetta, brother, Joseph D. Long (Rebekah Long), Zoey Campbell (23), Hunter Campbell (20), Cole J. Long (17), sister, Andrea M. Holland (William L. Holland, Jr.), Bailee Holland (27), Riley Miranda (19). Stepsisters: Rebecca L. Reed (Chad Reed), Keeva Reed (4), Cian Reed (1) and Elaina R. Hannon, (Jeremy Hannon), Jackson Hannon (18). Angela's running partner and the children's best friend and favorite doggie "Teddy" the Labrador. Aunts: Patricia Greco, Elaine Osborne, and Susan Forsythe.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Howard Billy Joe Osborne, and former father-in-law Gabriele Casetta.
Angela also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins and many loved ones that were close and dear to her heart.
A Celebration of Life was held on May 23rd, 2023, at The Ballroom at Orchard Creek, located at 965 Orchard Creek Lane, Lincoln CA 95648. Later that evening a gathering of friends and family met to celebrate Angie's life with a balloon release at Kathy Lund Community Park on softball Field #1 where she coached and mentored her "girls" for many years.
Rest in peace, Angela. You will be deeply missed by all who knew you. Your love and service will be felt for many generations.
