June 29, 1951 - August 27, 2023
Harold J. Benkoski, Jr. of Austin, Texas, was born June 29, 1951, and passed away unexpectedly on August 27, 2023.
Harold was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University and had been in the financial services industry since 1985, joining Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 1995 where he was a Wealth Management Advisor, Senior Vice President, and Certified Financial Planner.
Harold enjoyed dedicating time to support and volunteer with organizations he cared deeply about in our community, including Rotary Austin, where he was recently President, Knights of Columbus (St. John Neumann Council 10308 and 4th Degree Assembly 1099) where he was Grand Knight of the Council, District Deputy and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree, St. Vincent de Paul, and being a faithful parishioner of St. John Neumann Catholic Church. He especially relished time with his friends at their hunting lease and more recently set upon new adventures in Colorado.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife Julia. He is survived by his fiancée and life partner Tobie Funte, along with their two beloved dogs, Izzee and Oliver. He is also survived by his three children Matthew Benkoski, Adam Benkoski, and Jenny Benkoski.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 29th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Caves Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Austin Rotary Club Foundation or to the St. David’s Foundation Neal Kocurek Scholarship Fund.
