June 12, 1933 - June 14, 2023
Thomas Joseph Skrabanek, age 90, of Marietta, Georgia passed away on June 14, 2023. Son of the late Thomas J. Skrabanek Sr. and Mabel Dosser Skrabanek, Tom was born on June 12, 1933 in Temple, Texas.
Tom graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. After working at Eastman Kodak and Printing Development Inc., he retired.
In his spare time, he enjoyed sculpting, woodworking and landscaping. Tom was also a Texas A&M fan “Go Aggies,” and enjoyed watching football games. He was always very active playing tennis, football, and maintained physical fitness. He was also a member of a Bible Study Group and a man of God. Tom had many accomplishments in his life, one being with Neil Armstrong and other astronauts to select first photos of “man on the moon” for public release by Kodak. Tom led an incredible life and touched everyone he met. He will truly be missed by all.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his cousin, Donald Thaxton.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sandra Ann Gehring Skrabanek; children, Michelle Duncan, Jay Todd Skrabanek and Amy Chabayta `step children, Kimberly Bolles and Stacy Hurst; grandchildren, Houston Duncan, Jenny Duncan O’Dwyer, Allie Duncan, Aya Chabayta Sarah Chabayta and Jenna Chabayta, step grandchildren, AJ Bolles, Austin Bolles, Anna Hurst, Kate Hurst, and John Knox Hurst; five great grandchildren and friends to cherish his legacy.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation between the hours of 10:00am and 11:00am on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, 2111 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, Georgia 30068 with the memorial service to follow at 11:00am. Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00am at Kennesaw Memorial Park, 1306 Whitlock Ave NW, Marietta, Georgia 30064.
