Michael Robert Logan
September 1, 1972 - June 30, 2023

Dr. Michael Robert Logan, 50, of Highland Park, IL passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2023. He is survived by his loving wife Melissa, his son Andrew, his daughter Cammy, his parents Robert and Julie Logan, his sister Kristi (Paul) Mosgovoy, his brother-in-law Mike (Helen) Sayler, and sisters-in-law Kelly (Randy) Brown and Kristen Sayler. Many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nephews, and a great-niece also survive Michael.

Mike was a proud alumni of Texas A&M University where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. After graduating, Mike moved to Southern CA and completed his Veterinary Internship at West Los Angeles Animal Hospital where he met his caring wife, Melissa. During their 7 years in California, Mike became an avid surfer. As a hobby, Mike enjoyed designing and shaping surfboards.

The pair then moved to Indiana where Mike completed a residency in Veterinary Clinical Pathology as well as his Ph.D. at Purdue University in 2012. In 2005, they welcomed their son Andrew into their family followed by Cammy in 2007.

In 2014, they moved to Highland Park, IL when Mike began his career with AbbVie as a Principal Pathologist. At AbbVie, Mike’s reach was felt far beyond his job description, as his personable nature and passion for science made him a true leader and trusted colleague. In 2022, Mike was promoted to Research Fellow.

Mike was incredibly dedicated to his family. He cherished every moment he had with them and often said that his favorite place to be was with his family. It cannot be put into words what a wonderful father and loving husband he was and just how much he will be missed.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20th from 12 pm to 2 pm with a service to follow at 2 pm at Kelley and Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Road, Highland Park, IL 60035.
