Chace MacLane Murphy 
May 23, 1976 - June 28, 2023 

Chace MacLane Murphy of College Station, Texas passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the age of 47. He was born May 23, 1976 in Paris, Texas.

Chace graduated from Clarksville High School in Clarksville, Texas in 1994. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas in 1998. In 2010, he received a Master of Arts degree in religion from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He was an ordained Baptist minister.

During his college years and after graduation, he worked at various radio stations in the Brazos Valley and greater Houston area, as well as KBTX television in Bryan, Texas. In addition, Chace was hired by Bryan Broadcasting Corporation, where he served as news director, morning news anchor on WTAW, Candy 95, and KZNE, and was a part of WTAW’s “The Infomaniacs.” He later accepted a position as Manager of Public Affairs for Atmos Energy. For sixteen years Chace served as Public Address Announcer for Texas A&M University including football, men and women’s basketball, and volleyball.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Rosie Murphy, and Herman and Dale Jackson.

Chace is survived by his children, Reagan, Jackson, and Morgan Murphy; his parents, Jan and John Newman and Lane and Donna Murphy; his sisters, Alicia Puckett and husband Sammy, Kalyn Collard and husband Justin; his brother, Ryan Murphy and wife Leticia; his nieces, Lisanne Fleming and husband Travis, and Ella Collard; his nephews, Colton Puckett and wife Shana, and Luke Collard; his great-nieces, Reese Puckett, Jaidyn Steen, Aubree Fleming, and Adalynn Puckett; his aunt, Rose Duncan and husband Terry; the mother of his children, Jamie Murphy; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Private family services were held.
