Lowell Douglas Felps, CDR USN (Ret) 

December 16, 1939 - May 19, 2023 

A Celebration of Life for Commander Lowell "Douglas" Felps USN Retired will be held at a later date at Miller Creek Cemetery in Johnson City, Texas. Mr. Felps passed away May 19, 2023 at Greenville Gardens in Greenville, Texas.

Lowell was born Dec. 16, 1939 in Johnson City, Texas to Alton and Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps. He married Glenda Wickershiam on Dec. 30, 1965 in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Lowell served in the United States Navy for many years, where he was commander. He retired from L3Harris and the USN.

He enjoyed deer hunting, archery, fishing and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Glenda Felps (Greenville, Texas); daughter, Amy Cain (Norwich, England; granddaughter, Taylor Cain (Norwich, England); sister, Patsy Maulding and her husband, Davis (Carrollton, Texas); brother, Dale Felps (Boerne, Texas); sister, Carla Felps Feller (Spring Hill, Tennessee) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by his mother, Louise (Wiedebusch) Felps; father, Alton Felps, and son, Lowell "Doug" Felps, Jr.
