Joe A. Gawry
July 29, 1928 - May 17, 2023
On May 17, 2023, Joe A. Gawry, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home in San Antonio, TX. Born on July 29, 1928, in Ft. Sam Houston, TX to Eliza and Joseph Gawry.
Joe was an incredibly hard-working man who dedicated his career to education and served as a Vice Principal for many years. He was a strong believer in his faith and was actively involved in the Catholic Church through the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and Knights of Columbus. Above all else he was known for his kind-heartedness and generous spirit; always putting others before himself no matter the cost.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Gawry; children, Sheree, Debbie, and Jeanie; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Porter Loring North.
