Help make a digital collection of Texas A&M Elephant Walk shirts as the 100th anniversary of this Aggie tradition nears!
Visit tx.ag/PhotoUpload to add yours and view the gallery. We welcome all photos, but they will be especially helpful if you can:
When we tried taking photos like this, as you can see, we kept getting our phone's shadow in the picture. That's OK! Just get the shadow as far to one side as you can, and photograph the whole area, so that we can crop it later:
It's not clear how far back the tradition of Elephant Walk shirts goes, and there's no complete record of all the designs. In many years, the junior Class as well as the senior Class produced shirts.
Elephant Walk itself is over a century old — a tradition whose history began in 1922 when A&M freshmen marched around campus to break a football jinx.
The true 100-year anniversary of Texas A&M's senior Elephant Walk will come in 2025, a century after that Class took a final walk around campus together as seniors.
With your help, a gallery of Elephant Walk shirts could be ready to help celebrate that century mark!
