Aggie leading flyover of two C-130s for Miami game

Led by an Aggie commander, Air Force crews will fly two C-130J transport planes over Kyle Field 20 minutes before the kickoff of Saturday’s game against the University of Miami.

Piloting the lead aircraft will be 317th Operations Group commander Col. John Poole ’00. The 317th Operations Group, based at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, has a distinguished 80-year history as the most decorated C-130 unit in the U.S. Air Force.

In 2019, a C-130H from the Texas Air National Guard performed a Kyle Field flyover, capturing video, and its Aggie pilot described how such flights are timed to the second. Watch and read at tx.ag/FlyoverTiming.

If you’re an Association of Former Students donor, you help provide hotel accommodations for pilots and crew for home game flyovers. Thank you!

There are many ways that The Association works to support Aggies' gameday experience and bring Aggies together:
