Duane Vestol Naron, 77, of Spring, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, in Denver, Colorado. Duane was born September 30, 1944, in Luling, Texas, and lived in Corpus Christi and Victoria before moving to Houston in high school.
He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting from Texas A&M in 1966 and began working at Humble Oil Company (now ExxonMobil). He spent his entire career of 42 years at Exxon as a CPA in various positions in the Controller's Department.
Near the end of his career at ExxonMobil, he worked on a project to establish an exploration office in Chad, Africa, traveling there frequently and developing a love for the people of Chad in the process. That compassion and friendship led him to form and run a non-profit to serve the people of Chad through several projects in retirement.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Tammy Turner Naron; daughter, Kimberly Naron Ruddell (son-in-law Ryan Sean Ruddell) of Denver, Colorado; son, Duane Vernon Naron '04 of Denver, Colorado; sister, Sandra Houston of Little Rock, Arkansas; three granddaughters, Bronwyn Rose Ruddell, Hazel Tambrey Ruddell, and Astrid Darren Ruddell; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He spent his later years with his family in Colorado, but Texas was always his home and is now his final resting place.
Duane was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church for 46 years where his celebration of life service will be held: CFBC – North Klein at 4515 Spring Stuebner Road, Spring, Texas, on Monday, January 10 at 10:00 am with Rev. Stephen Trammell and Rev. Wade Liberator officiating.
