Michael Jay Aspinall
October 07, 1967 - September 30, 2021
Michael Jay Aspinall, aged 53, passed away on September 30, 2021. He was born in Aurora, CO on October 7th, 1967 to retired Colonel Kenneth and Darlene (Frimann) Aspinall.
Growing up in a military family, Mike lived in various areas of the US and overseas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Economics and served in the Texas A&M Corp of Cadets. While at A&M, he met his loving wife Christine and the two of them later decided to put down roots in the Kerrville area and start the family that Mike cherished so much.
Mike served as Senior Financial Manager at Luckenbach for over fifteen years until his passing. This was not only a job for him, but a passion. He loved the music of Luckenbach, the essence of the free spirit it represents, and mostly the people he met there who were a second family to Mike. He was an avid reader, loved music, sketching, photography, and being in the outdoors. Anyone who knew Mike, knew him for his unique sense of humor and the joy that he felt making those around him laugh.
He was tremendously proud of his son Josh and daughter Hannah, whose lights continue to grow brighter and will always serve to remind us of Mike’s goodness. Mike was an ardent supporter and fan of their activities. He enjoyed attending their recitals, orchestra concerts, soccer matches, and track events and always encouraged their participation in activities to expand their horizon. They will carry his memory for all their lives.
Mike is survived by his wife of 26 years Chris '91, children Josh and Hannah, parents Ken & Darlene Aspinall of Kerrville, sister and brother-in-law Kenda & Duke Voltz & nephews Nathan & Jacob of Georgetown, sister Jodi Aspinall of San Antonio, father-in-law Richard Fullerton and his wife Myrna, of Kissimmee, Florida, brother-in-law Rich & Rhonda Fullerton and nephew Richie, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and brother-in-law Glen Fullerton of Dallas, TX.
The world is a little less today without Mike here. He was such a dear man. He took a piece of our hearts with him when he left us. We are so thankful for the gift of almost 54 years of love, laughter, and joy that we have been given.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 9th at 5 P.M. in the Kerrville First United Methodist Church
