Advocate For Texas A&M In The Special Session

Miranda Henderson '09 June 14, 2021 2:21 PM updated: June 14, 2021 2:25 PM

The Texas Legislature adjourned the 2021 regular legislative session on Monday, May 31, after the passage of key items, including the biennium budget for Texas. Important issues impacting Texas A&M, however, are still to be decided during the special sessions that have already been promised by Gov. Greg Abbott.

Among these issues will be the allocation of nearly $16 billion in Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Relief federal funds. Texas A&M University will be closely monitoring these negotiations for any issues affecting the university or higher education.

Can we count on you to help? We need Aggie Advocates in every district who are ready and able to help advance Texas A&M! Through the Texas A&M Advocacy Network, Aggie Advocates may be called upon to:

• Contact their Representative or Senator in support of legislation impacting Texas A&M,
• Amplify Texas A&M’s achievements through social media,
• Demonstrate and explain the transformative power of higher education,
• And more!

By signing up to be an Aggie Advocate, you’ll receive information and resources to be an effective representative of Texas A&M before key stakeholders.
