June 24, 1977 - April 15, 2021 (age 43)

Benjamin Eduardo Macias, age 43, entered the Kingdom of our Lord on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at DHR Hospital, Edinburg, Texas. Ben was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 24, 1977 to parents, Nasario and Belinda Macias. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend to many.

He is survived by his wife, Marissa Macias and their children Emma (8) Benicio (5) and Mylo (2) along with mother-in-law, Nilda Hernandez and brother-in-law, Chris Hernandez. He is also survived by his parents and his younger brothers, Bernie (Maritza) Macias and Nick Macias (Yazmin) and their families, as well as many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Alex and Alicia Muro and paternal grandparents; Aristeo and Jacoba Macias.

Ben graduated from James Nikki Rowe High School in 1998. He was a 4-year letterman in football, member of the National Honor Society and Top 25 Honor Students and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Nikki Rowe. He received the Aggie Spirit Award Scholarship from Texas A&M and while at the university was a member of MAES (Society of Mexican American Engineers and Scientists), was a member of Corp of Cadets his Freshman year and graduated for Texas A&M in December of 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Nineteen years ago, while interning as a young professional, he began his journey at Halff Associates Inc. as a Civil Engineer and worked there until the present .

In loving memory, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, You're loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

From his brothers: Ben was a great brother and an ever better father. He had a heart of gold and never turned his back on anyone, friend or foe. He dedicated his life to his family and work and hated to disappoint anyone. Ben will be missed deeply bi all who knew him and his memory will remain with all those who loved him. We Love you. O-Ben-1 Kenobi!

Visitation will held at Rivera Funeral Home, 1901 Pecan Blvd., McAllen Texas on Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 4 pm to 9 pm with a Rosary at 6:30 on. The rosary will be live streamed on Facebook by Rivera Funeral Home at 6:630 pm on Sunday. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 19, 2021 at 10 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1108 W. Hackberry Ave. McAllen, Texas.
