Dudley William Caswell III
September 22, 1936 - January 16, 2021
Dudley William Caswell III, class of '56, Passed in January 16 at his home in Virginia
Dudley was born in Tyler, Texas to Dudley William Caswell class of 1932, and wife Irene. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering also while competing on the Aggie swim team. During his time in Bryan College Station he worked for the Highway Department,
and met and married the love of his life Marie Carlton on Sept, 22 1957.
His Civil Engineering career was extraordinary. He began his career in Vicksburg MS at the waterways experiment station on the nuclear weapons effects team. After that, they were off to see the world with stays in Germany and Alaska before settling in Herndon
VA to work at the Pentagon. After retirement from the Defense Department, he completed his career as a consultant on variety of projects and programs mostly involving manufacturing and technology initiatives and implementation for multiple branches of the
military.
Dudley was exceptional and was known to engage others in a positive way with a sense of humor, and strong work ethic. He was an expert prankster, which he probably learned from his time in the A&M dorms. There were some stories about "Babo bombs". He might
have had a few opinions about politics, but was always gracious and helpful, and was well known in his neighborhood and social circles as someone who would always willing to mentor or help. He will be missed.
