Michael A. Douglas,
August 3, 1962 – November 23, 2020
The staff of Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living and its Board of Directors honors the memory of our colleague and friend, Michael Douglas. Michael joined BVCIL’s Board of Directors in September of 2012 when BVCIL was only a couple of years old. Just
recently, he had stepped off the board with the intention of joining our staff. Michael was actively involved in shaping BVCIL particularly with our transportation program, accessibility help desk, and, most recently, our nursing home relocation and attendant
care referral project. Michael was always just a text message or phone call away. We loved and appreciated Michael for all he did for BVCIL. We believe the only thing he loved more than BVCIL was his family, special friends, and being an Aggie. We look forward
to being able to celebrate Michael’s life with his family at a future date, and hope to further honor his name in the continuation of the programs he had a hand in growing.
A Message from Michael's Family
“We would like to invite our family and friends to donate in honor of our brother, Michael. We have decided, at this time that, we will delay a “Celebration of Life” for him. We feel, with the state of the current pandemic, that it would be best to wait until
next year some time. We will post again when we know a date. Thank you to Jackie Pacha and Brazos Valley Center for Independent Living for all that you did for him. BVCIL was a huge part of his life in many ways. He was on both ends of this amazing cause."
