OCTOBER 9, 1935 – JUNE 8, 2020
Frederick A. Perrenot, 84, of Houston, TX, passed away on June 8, 2020. He was born in San Antonio, TX in 1935 to Selma and Frederick Perrenot ('31). Fred received his Civil Engineering Degree from his beloved Texas A&M University, Class of ’57, and Master’s
in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Kansas. He was previously married to Lillian Bonewitz Perrenot and leaves his wife of 32 years, Alice Cerda Perrenot.
Fred served his country with a full military career, leaving as Colonel, United States Army, Retired. After retiring from the Army, he joined the City of Houston (COH) for a second career in the Public Utilities and the Public Works Departments working as a
Professional Engineer. While at the COH, Fred was most proud of establishing a training center dedicated to the professional training and development of Public Works employees. Over twenty-five years later, the center is still serving COH employees.
He was a member of the Chi Epsilon civil engineering honor society and was also awarded numerous Awards and Decorations during his military and COH careers. Fred’s interest and hobbies were diverse and he was passionate about them. He loved automobiles, especially
restoring them. He worked tirelessly with his family’s history and published his finding as far back as the 1300s. Fred traveled the world during and after his military career. After retirement, almost a decade of trailering satisfied his desire to see our
United States up close and personal. Fred served his community with a term in his neighborhood Homeowners Association, and served His Creator in the church choir for 20 years.
He is survived by his sons, Frederick Adrian Perrenot ('78) (Helen), Steven Travis Perrenot ('76) and Michael Joseph Perrenot (Mary Kay), and step-daughters Christine Wright ('87) (Steve) and Stephanie Gutierrez (Steve). Grandchildren, Kimberly Perrenot, Stephanie
Sansone (Tony), Kathryn Perrenot ('08), Gwendolyn Perrenot ('06), Emily Willard (Travis), and Elizabeth Perrenot. Great-grandchildren, Ava Rowe, Reagan Rowe, Aubrey Sansone, Luke Sansone, Everett Willard and Tre Willard. Brothers & Sisters, Brian Perrenot
('72) (Vicky), Leanna Lawrence. Fred also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be held at 10:30am on June 16, 2020 at Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
