Kenneth Frank Pogue
1926 - 2020

Kenneth Frank Pogue went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2020. He was born to Herman and Ruby Pogue in Midlothian, Texas on February 25, 1926.

Kenneth attended Adamson High School where upon graduation he received an award for having perfect attendance his entire academic career. Kenneth was an avid sportsman-he loved baseball and football, even playing in the Orange Bowl for his beloved Alma Mater Texas A&M on New Year's Day 1944. He was in the Corps of Cadets, where he trained in both the cavalry, and later trained in the Air Corp. He was never without his Aggie ring.

On June 20, 1952, he married Nita Jean Yates and they had three beautiful daughters-Kathy Aaron, nee Pogue, Barbara and Beverly Pogue. Kenneth was employed for many years with RD Wood Company and Lone Star Steel. Kenneth and Nita loved to travel and went to Europe thirteen times. They loved cooking and formed a culinary club where they prepared food from around the world with close friends.

The most important thing to Kenneth was his family, and he is now reunited with his parents, daughters Beverly and Barbara, and his beloved brother-in-law Kay W. Pickering.

He is survived by his wife Nita Pogue to whom he was a devoted and loving spouse for almost 68 years. Also survived by daughter Kathy and husband Chuck, grandchildren Jenny Hazen and husband Dane, Erin Busbee and husband Zane, Alexis Austin Hall; great grandchildren, Gage, Duke, and Miller Hazen and Vera Beverly Busbee. Kenneth is also survived by his beloved sister Katie Pickering, nieces and nephews Doug Pickering and wife Joanie, Leslie McCool and Wayne Pickering, and Judy Farmer and husband Joe.

While we are deeply saddened by Kenneth's loss, we take comfort in his faith in the Lord and that we will be reunited. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be celebrated at a later date.
