Doctoral Students Get Own Hooding Ceremony

Susan "Sue" Owen '94 December 16, 2019 11:15 AM updated: December 17, 2019 9:46 AM

Texas A&M held its first all-doctoral hooding and commencement ceremony across colleges Dec. 7, 2019, replacing the practice of presenting doctoral hooding and diplomas during the ceremonies for undergraduate and master's degrees.

During the ceremony in Rudder Auditorium, 275 Aggies got their doctoral degrees. Like every A&M commencement, it included "The Spirit of Aggieland," turning Aggie Rings out to face the world, and a handshake from representatives of The Association of Former Students.

New former students were congratulated by Association Vice President for Communications and Human Resources Kathryn Greenwade '88.
