Yell Practice Set For 10 p.m. Before Football Thursday

Susan "Sue" Owen '94 August 15, 2019 8:58 AM updated: September 9, 2019 10:19 AM

Like last year, the Aggies' home football opener is set for a Thursday. And because this Game Day is a class day (sorry, students, but nope, classes are not canceled), that means Yell Practice will move up to 10 p.m. instead of midnight the night before the Aggies BTHO Texas State.

Parking will be free near Kyle Field for Yell Practice starting at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28 - but tailgaters, take note, you can't leave your vehicle overnight!

All these details and more are explained in the university's FAQ at footballthursday.tamu.edu - including info on gameday parking, bus routes and changes for tailgating.

Away from campus, many A&M Clubs have already made plans for watch parties for this game and the Clemson game Sept. 7 - check tx.ag/watchparties for Aggie get-togethers in Cincinnati; San Diego; Washington, D.C.; La Vista, Nebraska; San Antonio, Katy, Plano, Austin and more.

If you'll be on campus for the home opener, come by the All-Aggie Tailgate beginning at 4:30 at the Williams Alumni Center. Watch the game for free with plenty of seats and plenty of air conditioning! Beer, wine and food concessions will be offered beginning at 4:30. The Aggie game will be shown live on the 26-foot Huddleston Video Wall at 7:30, and the building will remain open till 30 minutes after the game ends. The All-Aggie Tailgate at every home game is made possible by title sponsor C.C. Creations and sponsors Bank of America, Nationwide Insurance and Messina Hof.

If you're going to any of the Aggie road games this fall, be sure to come out to Midnight Yell Practice and the All-Aggie Tailgate! Sign up for email updates as plans are made for Clemson, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Georgia and LSU. The food, water, sodas and beer at these away-game tailgates are free thanks to title sponsor C.C. Creations and sponsors Slovacek Sausage and Nationwide Insurance.

The Association of Former Students coordinates free activities at every home and away football game to bring Aggies together, and also helps pay security costs for Midnight Yell in Kyle Field and secures locations for Midnight Yell on the road to keep these traditions strong for all Aggies. This work is possible thanks to gifts made by Association donors. Lend your support at tx.ag/give
