James Robert Langston
Birth Date: January 25, 1937 Death Date: July 25, 2019

James (Jim) Robert Langston, age 82, passed away after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, on Thursday, July 25, 2019 with his loving wife of 60 years and family and friends by his side. He was a believer in Jesus Christ as Saviour and led a Christ Centered Life. Jim faithfully served his Church’s Tape Ministry Department which included recording and distribution of the Pastor’s sermons and lessons through tapes/CD’s and online media worldwide.

Jim was born on January 25, 1937 in Harrison, Arkansas to Wayne and Norma Langston. He grew up in Springfield, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1955 and attended Southwest Missouri State for a year prior to transferring to Texas A&M and graduating with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1959. While attending A&M he was a member of Tau Beta Pi, a preeminent Honor Society for Engineering Students and also served in the Air Force Reserves for six years.

Jim’s professional career started in 1959 and spanned a total of 42 years with 38 years of sales and management positions with Allis-Chalmers/Siemens specializing in the design, manufacturing and sales of Pumps and Large Electrical Distribution Equipment and four years with Tippett & Gee Consulting Engineers from 1964-68.

Jim’s interests included hunting, antiquing, cooking, attending grandkid’s sporting events, woodworking and being an all-around handyman.

Preceded in death were his parents, brother Don and sister Pat Stacey. He is survived by his wife, Annell, his two sons, Jeff (Debi) & Jay (Lori), five grandchildren: Christie (Edward) Patterson, Mickey Keene, Gillett, Tait & Elle Langston and seven great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX 75243. Reception to follow.
