Fossum, Rodriguez To Speak In Plano For Maritime Speaker Series

Texas A&M-Galveston COO Mike Fossum '80 and Texas A&M Maritime Academy Superintendent Mike Rodriguez will speak at a luncheon of the Navy League of the United States - Dallas Council on May 17.

Col. Fossum and Rear Adm. Rodriguez are appearing as part of the Council's Maritime Speaker Series. The event is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17 at Gleneagles Country Club, 5401 W. Park Blvd. in Plano. Tickets are $30 and include a buffet lunch.

Rodriguez is a 1979 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. In January 2017, he became the 15th superintendent of the Texas A&M Maritime Academy in Galveston, where he is responsible for the education and training of 556 students in the Academy’s Corps of Cadets.

Fossum became a vice president of Texas A&M University and COO for the Galveston campus in 2017 following his retirement from NASA. He is a veteran of three space flights with more than 194 days in space, including more than 48 hours in seven spacewalks.
