William "Bill" Norman Brinkley
January 29, 1937 - March 02, 2019

William (Bill) Norman Brinkley was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, March 2nd. Our Lord Jesus and his wife of 50 years, Sherry were there to greet him with open arms. He was born January 29, 1937 to H. G. and Etta Marie Brinkley in Westlake, Louisiana. He graduated from W.B. Ray High School, in Corpus Christi, TX and went on to Texas A & M University in College Station, where he graduated in 1961 with a degree in electrical engineering. He spent his engineering career with E-Systems, now part of Raytheon, designing space-based systems for national security applications. After retiring, he and Sherry enjoyed traveling to California, Montana, Washington D.C., and the Outer Banks of North Carolina, seeing the country and visiting with family. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, passing that love on to his children and grandchildren. He had a great passion for his grandchildren, and delighted in singing to them and rocking them to sleep. In retirement, he enjoyed vegetable gardening, cultivating oak trees, and playing dominos and cards with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sherry; his parents, his brother H.G. Brinkley Jr, his sister Barbara Brinkley Ramsey, and his brother- in-law John David Gross. He is survived by his brother Ken Brinkley (Pam), his daughter Lisa Davis Abner (Randy), Sons - Paul Andrew Brinkley (Cindy), Norman Scott Brinkley (Kerry), and Matthew Glenn Brinkley (Amy); his grandchildren, Tyler, Caitlin, Chase, Jack, Lindsey, Scott, Will, Claire and Lily. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandra Gross, and numerous nieces and nephews, and his special dog Ziggy who was by his side to the end.

The family wishes to thank Victoria Bennett for the wonderful tender loving care that she bestowed on our Dad during his last year with us. We cannot thank you enough.

Bill's visitation is Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at Allen Funeral Home. His life celebration will be Friday, March 8, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wylie Bible Church. He will be laid to rest next to Sherry at Lakeview Cemetery in Lavon.
